About Me

Certified in neurology and vascular neurology, Dr. Cronin specializes in stroke care. She provides care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She is dedicated to rapidly diagnosing and identifying the cause of her patient's stroke, developing an effective management plan, and providing comprehensive follow-up care to optimize stroke prevention and recovery.

Dr. Cronin has done extensive research on various aspects of stroke outcomes, including patient eligibility for thrombolytic therapy—the use of medication to break up or dissolve blood clots—for acute stroke. In addition to serving as a mentor to trainees in stroke outcomes research, she is the local primary investigator for multicenter international stroke-related studies. She is also medical director of the Maryland Young Stroke Center.

Dr. Cronin is highly involved in neurology education. She is vice chair for education for the neurology department and director of the neurology residency program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
