About Me
Dr. Cothran has special interest in childhood obesity, sports medicine, women’s health, and injury prevention.
She is an assistant professor of family and community medicine and director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Maryland.
She received her medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. She then continued her training as a resident in family medicine at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Cothran serves as the fellowship director for the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship and as a team physician for the University of Maryland Terrapins.
