About Me

Dr. Schocket specializes in the medical and surgical management of retinal diseases including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusions, retinal detachments, macular holes, tumors and cataract complications.

A native of Baltimore, Dr. Schocket graduated cum laude from Bryn Mawr School. After graduating magna cum laude from Brown University, she spent a year performing research at the National Institutes of Health.

She is an associate professor, vice chair for clinical affairs and chief of the Retina Division at the University of Maryland, Department of Ophthalmology.

In 2005, she joined and helped build a busy private practice group in the community while also working at University of Maryland teaching residents and serving on the clinical faculty.

Dr. Schocket is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Schocket has been actively involved in research throughout her career. Her work has appeared in journals such as Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, and Retina. She also wrote the chapter on choroidal melanoma in the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Focal Points. Dr. Schocket has presented her research at both national and international meetings. She has served as sub-investigator in multiple large clinical trials.
